OUR STORY
Two decades ago, Naveen and Sunny made a simple observation: mushrooms, with their rich, earthy flavors and diverse bioactive compounds, were being underutilized in our diets. Recognized as superfoods, these humble fungi offer a plethora of nutraceutical and therapeutic benefits, often missing from diets relying solely on plant and animal sources. Inspired by mushrooms' potential, both Naveen and Sunny embarked on a mission to educate and enlighten people about integrating this "Third Food Kingdom" into their everyday meals.
In 2004, with a small team of passionate individuals, we began cultivating a variety of mushrooms. Each mushroom was grown with care, using sustainable farming techniques that respect the environment. As we honed our craft, our dedication bore fruit, leading to the creation of Planet Mushroom, a brand that stands for quality, health, and innovation.
Our journey has not been without its challenges, but our belief in the power of fungi has kept us going. Over the years, we have expanded our reach, bringing our mushrooms to niche retail outlets like Food Story Delhi and Food Hall Bombay. These partnerships have allowed us to share our passion with a wider audience, and the positive response has been overwhelming.
One of our proudest moments came when Naveen was invited for an interview with Food Story. During the interview, he spoke about increasing mushroom consumption per capita from the present 100gm per month to 1 kg per month.
